Volunteer at LifeTown
When a volunteer gives two hours, s/he will get so much more in return from interacting with students!
We all learn best by doing, so role-playing is a fun way to learn critical life skills… and make mistakes safely. By role-playing as shopkeepers and other community members, volunteers provide students with supported real world experience. Whether role-playing as a banker, librarian, police officer, doctor, manicurist, or ice cream vendor, caring and supportive adult volunteers at LifeTown are instrumental in helping students with disabilities to transition to the great, big world.
Individuals and groups are welcome!
All volunteers must complete a successful background check.
Volunteer sessions are 9:30 a.m. — 12:00 p.m. (Monday – Friday, during school year). Please arrive promptly for training at 9:30 a.m. to review the specific lessons students will working on that day and your responsibilities as a shop keeper. Training is mandatory for first time volunteers.
